Sarah - Bowen therapist, Indian head masseuse & Reiki practicioner, Chinese foot massage practicioner.
Sarah is a professional Bowen therapist, originally from the UK, she is currently residing in the Silves region with her two sons.
She followed courses on anatomy and physiology, at the IFPA accredited S.E.E.D institute, UK. She concluded her Bowen therapy training with Susan Hagan, recognized by the Bowen therapy professional association, in 2011. Sarah has since then participated in continuing education courses on hormonal Bowen therapy and postural assessment in Bowen, among others.
She has an interest in Ayurveda and offers Indian head massages, having learned ayurvedic facial massage in 2013. She is also a Reiki practicioner and is continuing to study to become a life coach.
Sarah is a very friendly and intuitive therapist. She is open to working with clients using an holistic aproach. If requested she will take different aspects of your life into account and offer coaching regarding these.
Bowen Therapy - Release tension gently, repair and rebalance.
A non-invasive treatment that involves gentle moves over muscles and tendons, it is extremely relaxing and helps the body re-balance and repair itself by releasing tension at a very deep level. Bowen sets the scene for the body to heal itself, it does not attempt to force the body to change; rather it asks the body to recognise and make the changes necessary to bring it back to its natural balanced state.
During the treatment, you can expect to leave your clothes on and lie down on a massage table. The therapist will friction over certain points on your body and then let the body adapt for a few minutes, before proceeding to the next manual application. You find yourself in a state of deep relaxation. If you wish to treat a certain contidion, It is advised to have 3 to 4 treatments over a period of 4 weeks.
Indian Head massage - total relaxation.
Based on the Ayurvedic system of healing which has been practiced in India for over a thousand years. Using natural oils the aim is to release the stress that has accumulated in the tissues, muscles and joints of the head, face, neck and shoulders using a range of different movements including application of deep kneading and compression movements over the shoulder, neck and scalp areas, pressure points on the face are also stroked and stimulated.
Reiki - feel the energy flow.
A technique that channels universal life energy into the body aiming to activate ones natural healing processes promoting wellness on a physical, emotional and spiritual level, clearing blocked energy and realigning and balancing the Chakras. Crystals can be used to enhance the healing process.
Ayurvedic Facial & Marma Point Massage - Uplifting and energising.
A delicate and deeply relaxing and detoxifying treatment that utilises natural products and/or herbal preparations to deeply cleanse, hydrate & rejuvenate the skin and aims to bring about energy balance to the entire body. Tension can build up within our facial muscles from the pressures of everyday life without us realising it, this is a great way to relax this tension. The treatment includes exfoliation, facial massage and marma point stimulation to revitalise the muscles, complexion and psyche - pure luxury.
Chinese Foot Massage - A real treat for the feet.
A relaxing but intense massage with essential oils on various pressure points in the feet using ancient Chinese techniques, these pressure point connect to a corresponding part of the body helping to decrease stress and anxiety and bring balance back to the whole body, also improving circulation and lymphatic drainage. With plenty of rubbing, pushing and massaging on the bottoms, tops, and sides of the feet, ankles and legs your lower limbs will feel like new.
Sarah is naturally interested in the different aspects that may be influencing your life and (health) issues. She is currently studying to become a life coach and implements coaching techniques into her treatments, when requested.
